A catch-all mailbox is one that collects all the messages sent to invalid addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody misspells it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you’ll never miss emails because the other party has an outdated email address or has made a typographical error. The disadvantage of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of junk email messages, but this issue can be solved using an anti-spam filtering solution. It’s also important to keep in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot redirect incoming emails to a 3rd-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

Configuring a catch-all email mailbox will be amazingly easy if you have a Linux shared hosting with us. You can enable this feature through our advanced, yet easy-to-work-with Email Manager tool, which is part of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you’ll manage your shared web hosting account. You will find all the mailboxes that you’ve created displayed alphabetically and next to each one of them there will be a mini "Catch-all" icon, which will instantly tell you if a certain mailbox stores all the emails pertaining to a given domain name or not. With one click on the icon you can enable or disable this option whenever you want. If there is activated email forwarding or if a different mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a specific domain name, you’ll receive a notification from our system. The latter will not replace/disable anything automatically or without your approval.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

You’ll be able to set up a catch-all email address with no more than a click if you have a Linux semi-dedicated hosting with us and your email messages are handled by our cloud hosting platform. All the email addresses that you set up using any domain name hosted in the semi-dedicated account will be shown in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Each of them will have a small "Catch-all" icon on its right-hand side, so all it will take to activate this feature will be to click on that icon. In the exact same way you’ll be able to disable the feature, in case you don’t need it anymore. Our system will notify you if you’re trying to enable a 2nd catch-all email address for a specific domain or if there’s activated email forwarding, but it’ll never modify or deactivate anything automatically and without your consent.
